About the program
The Electronic Engineering programme at Politecnico di Torino conceives, designs and creates systems and hardware (HW) that are crucial to any information generating, processing or transferring technology (ICT): from components and integrated circuits (ASICs, processors, controllers, PLD , FPGA, SIP, SoC…) to printed circuit boards, from sensors and MEMs to micro and nano electronic systems.
Key Facts
- The electronic engineer will be able to work as a designer and team leader, as a testing and production engineer in industry.
- As well as potentially taking up applied research in Italian and foreign R&D centres, the electronic engineer can also be employed as a technical- commercial hybrid professional figure.
- Micro / nanoelectronic systemsObjective
- Electronic technologies and micro / nano technologies for sensors and biomedicine
- Micro and Nano Integrated Systems
- Content
- Technological and modelling bases (not only in Electronics but also Mechanics, Optics, Chemistry, Biology and Medicine)
- Construction of a complete system, from micro / nano systems to management of interfaces with the outside.
- ELN / OPTOEL devices and technologies
- Objective
- Electronic technology and microtechnology
- different application sectors (radio, optical, transducers, sensors, …)
- Content
- Modelling and technology of devices and structures (semiconductors, organic or polymer materials)
- Electrical, thermal and structural characterization
- Technologic CAD
- micromachining techniques
- Analog and power design
- Objective
- Front-end between the physical world (analog) and (digital) information processing
- Back-end between numerical results and physical world (actuators – Mechatronics Industrial Automation)
- Content
- Design of analog integrated circuits
- Components and power circuits
- Integrating A/D/power
