About the program
This Master’s degree programme trains digital experts to capitalize the digital transformation in order to foster inclusive and sustainable development, in particular in the context of the post-carbon city transitions that respond to the multiple challenges of climate change. The programme offers a multidisciplinary combination of teaching units to provide knowledge and analytical skills across several domains, from engineering to social sciences, with a focus on the interplay between spatial and technological dimensions of the digital transformation.
The programme provides students with the key competencies needed to support digital transformation initiatives such as complex problem-solving skills, critical thinking, interpersonal and communication skills, in a highly practical learning environment. Students learn about the processes linked to new technologies (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Big Data & Analytics, Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, Digital Manufacturing, Social Media) taking part in a combination of interactive lectures, practical seminars and internships.
The Digital Expert is a professional who works globally in public administrations, private companies, consulting firms, agencies and NGOs. The Digital Expert is able to engage in the multi-stakeholder conversation that is typical of digital transformation projects, providing multiple disciplinary perspectives to develop innovative data-enabled services.

- Technological innovation for post-carbon cities: expertise in energy transition processes and sustainable mobility to design innovative and sustainable technological strategies and solutions for the environment.
- Methodologies and techniques for Industry 4.0: expertise in the digitalization of industrial processes, predictive maintenance, digital twins, integrated management of production systems, Manufacturing Execution System tools (MES).
- Cultural heritage: expertise in the field of the design and management of ICT-based solutions for analysis, representation, communication and dissemination of cultural urban heritage.
