About the program
They have the competences to design and manage environmental processes and works in an innovative way, in compliance with health, safety and sustainability concerns.
The programme includes four tracks, two of which entirely provided in English, that train to:
- ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION: design and implement technical and technological solutions for environmental protection in anthropic activities, even in case of accidents; design and implement solutions for remediation of polluted sites and plan and manage production activities in an environmentally sustainable way.
- NATURAL RISKS AND CIVIL PROTECTION: identify areas at risk of foods, landslides, earthquakes, soil subsidence and spot conditions underlying such extreme events; plan, implement and monitor interventions to prevent and manage natural risks. Set up of emergency and civil protection plans.
- GEO-ENGINEERING (ENG): design, plan and manage construction and maintenance of strategic infrastructures and other interventions that interfere with underground and surface geological environment; manage and direct works and construction sites in a safe and sustainable way.
- CLIMATE CHANGE (ENG): understand and model climate systems and their interaction with human systems; know international policies and guidelines; plan and manage technological interventions for climate change mitigation; plan adaptation strategies, design, implement and monitor interventions to manage natural events and resource scarcity.
Job opportunities for Environmental and Land Engineers face a rapid growth and mainly come from manufacturing and service companies, public bodies and agencies, technical and management consultancies.
They plan, design, manage and control sustainable productive processes; they implement policies and regulations; they design infrastructures, plants and environmental systems; they manage construction sites and works for infrastructures and interventions affecting the territory; they implement scientific research activities.
